The best happenings @Nowhere 2008

The Nowhere mailing list is starting to give exciting and/or interesting news. Here they are.

Nowhere Poker Party (Texas Hold'em: wow!)
The first Nowhere Poker party will become a reality! Hope we could do that the friday in the center camp. For the moment, just 40 people maximum in a Texas Holdh'em no limit poker party (double shoot out). To suscribe, let's go to information office and ask Ed. Of course, it's free, but you need to come with a funny hat and 2 beers as a subscription.
More information: Ed, in the Arockalypse Camp.

Speakers of Different languages... WE WANT YOU!
We're looking for a few good women and men who can give a hand (or a pair of lips) interpreting and translating for the team. We need Spanish speakers right away to help out in various situations, but we would love to get a list of on-site linguists (or just casual French, Spanish, German, Italian and... well, why not.. Klingon speakers) who would be willing to help out if
necessary.
Stop by the information desk when you arrive at Nowhere and let us know who you are!

Join the Volunteer Crew at the Gate!
It is one of the most fun volunteering opportunities as you are the first faces that people see when they arrive. You get to give the new arrivals the proper Nowhere greeting, you have the honour of opening the gate itself and get to be the people who set the tone of excitement and
wonder from the first. We can promise you shade, comfort, cold beers, at least 7 years good karma and more just for putting your name down for a shift and rocking up for it. The Gate Crew will be putting up a board on site with all available shifts. All you need to do is put your name down for the times you want to do, and remember, the more shifts you do, the more cold beers and good karma youget. We made a deal with the right people.

What to wear at the Nowhere event i.e. How's the weather in the desert

The Nowhere event is held in the middle of the desert, the Monegros Desert in Spain, near Zaragoza. The nearest city is Castejón de Monegros (600 inhabitants).

How's the weather @Nowhere in July?
I guess the weather will be pretty hot during the day, cooler at night. I recommend you to take light t-shirts and trousers for the day and something to protect you from the cold of the desert nights. I don't know much more because I couldn't find anything interesting on the web.

However, the pictures from last years' Nowhere events seem to validate my guess: the day is hot, the nights are cooler.

By the way, don't forget to take with you a pair of glasses and a cool hat to protect your head! Maybe you could use sun protection cream too if your skin is delicate. Obviously, an extravagant suite is also appreciated!

You may have a look at these pictures to know more about the weather and what to wear @Nowhere.

Nowhere during the day: hot weather.

Nowhere in the afternoon: less hot and sun is going down.

Nowhere at night: cooler!

How to get to Nowhere: first, you need a ticket!

NOWHERE 2008 is ticketed event. So you need a ticket to participate.

Ticket sales income goes towards the organization, infrastructure (there are toilets there!) and funding art at Nowhere.

The tickets for Nowhere are pretty expensive. If you bought one until the end of February, you would pay 60 euros. Tickets were sold at 90 euros 'til the end of May, but now a ticket for NOWHERE 2008 tops 120 euros!

More info about NOWHERE 2008 tickets available here.
